A1: When we rekey your lock it means that we exchange the pins inside the cylinder with new ones that will only work with a different key.  This eliminates any old keys from working in the lock.  We also clean the cylinder and lube it for you as well so that it is working smoothly.  This is especially important if you live near the ocean.
